Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitarist. She was the youngest and first woman to receive a British House of Commons Shield she's received Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian of Indian descent to perform live on stage and also be a presenter for the awards ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was an Indian young sitar artist. She is the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. During her first years she split in London New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. In 1999, she completed her high school education in Encinitas CA. Anouskha is still a young woman, but she has a very remarkable career in the field of music and performance. She frequently joins her father on stage, which she has been doing for quite a few years. She made Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. It was followed by the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year following. Apart from performing in many of the biggest venues as well, she has a long stage career. Anoushka's career does not only comprise the world of music. Bapi The love of my life is an illustrated biography that she composed in 2002. It is a tribute to her father who died in the year 2000. Ravi Shankar. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of her time in London and Delhi in her early years. Then, she relocated to California for high school. She began studying music at the age nine and played the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of her father's birth in Delhi the following year. Anoushka's father toured around across the world with her and she gained many experiences. As she was at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD Music Festival. To honor her position as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
